How We Built 600+ Links in 30 Days and You Can Too
Link building takes a lot of time. Just securing 10-20 links a month can be mind-numbing.
By aligning resources, PureLinq created a link building program that delivered up to 90% response rates on email outreach without using overseas virtual assistants or email automation. emails.
On January 19, I hosted a sponsored webinar presented by Kevin Rowe, CEO of PureLinq.
Rowe showed a proven method to unleash your link building potential.
Here is a brief summary of the webinar. For more details, fill out the form to access the full webinar.
What traditionally works in link building?
Before we dive into how we built over 600 links, let’s set the level.
By knowing what works traditionally, you can easily figure out how to speed up the process and maximize your time.
Article-Based Links Work
It doesn’t matter if the site is established or new. Local businesses may consider incorporating more local citations, but the article-based link still works.

The traditional way to get 600 links
Traditionally, the formula 40,000 sites/(11% email open rate + 3% response rate + 9% placement rate) gives you 600 links.
Without a good program in place, you would need to build a list of over 40,000 sites. This alone takes a long time.
You will need to create a good link building program to help you prioritize your resources.

Elements of a Good Link Building Program
Creating a good link building program is key to speeding up your process and ensuring that each step contributes to your goal.
The traditional first step is to address and evolve the most difficult but essential parts of link building:
- Building the list.
- Find contacts.
- Personalization of emails.
- Content creation.
- Sensitization.
- Followed.
- Verification.
Low response rates, personalized content and more could take you a year to scale.
So how do you do all of this in just one month?
The fastest approach to building links
You can reduce the time by selecting the right approach.
Refine content
Rowe’s team reduced content and instead focused on outreach and prospecting.
The two best case scenarios that worked for them were:
- Thematic complaints.
- Unlinked Brand Mentions.

Build Relationships
Rowe’s team achieved a 90% response rate when using predefined relationships.
This 90% response rate means that to reach 600, they only had to send 700 outreach emails, instead of the traditional 40,000.
The key to this response rate is relationships.
Rowe suggests these tools to get started creating lists and relationships:
- MuckRack.
- Pitch box.
- Buzz flow.
Next, suggest things that your future partners might need.
What works well for bloggers, influencers, authors, and publishers is giving them free crawls and finding their broken links.
You can use simple SEO tactics that they don’t know how to perform, like whole-site crawls on 5,000 pages, and find and fix all the links.
You can also recommend a WordPress plugin.
These free things are great reasons to establish a relationship.
You’ll get a high response rate as a result, but don’t ask for anything in return.
Just start building that relationship and maintaining that list.
The links will come naturally.
