Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched the new JK Film Policy to encourage filmmakers to shoot films and also to create employment opportunities for young people.

Here’s everything you need to know about the launch event
- The launch event took place at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) on Thursday evening (August 5). The new policy was launched in the presence of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani.
- This new rule will transform the state into the most preferred destination for the entertainment industry. However, the new policy will maximize the potential of local talent and also create better opportunities for many in Jammu and Kashmir.
- The Lieutenant Governor also informed that they have implemented a one-stop-shop authorization mechanism with other benefits for the growth of Jammu and Kashmir besides offering tax incentives to filmmakers entering the State.
- This launch will offer a host of incentives to filmmakers coming to Jammu and Kashmir.
J&K Film Policy Objective
- Through this launch, the state government plans to facilitate the overall growth of the JK film industry, the establishment of the Jammu and Kashmir Film Development Council as well as easy access to the website for the talent pool and other filming destinations.
- Meanwhile, other developments such as infrastructure for film screening, revival of closed movie theaters, modernization of existing movie theaters, encouragement of multiplexes and movie theaters, destination marketing for the State, the organization of festivals, the preservation of JK Films, among others, will be planned accordingly. .

Upcoming films shot in JK:
At the launch event, producer Mahaveer Jain announced that his next project will be shot in Jammu and Kashmir. In addition, another web series from Rajkumar Hirani’s son, Vir Hirani, will also be present.
