Brunei-based business directory Mahigo offers free registration and promotions to all new suppliers as part of their ongoing onboarding campaign.

Since launching earlier this year, Mahigo has integrated over 200 local businesses with over a thousand listings on their website, which positions itself as a business directory with value-added services, including the ability to list products and services, communicate with customers and announce specific promotions. .

Mahigo co-founder and director Adib Hassan – who started the business with two other close friends – said his website was aimed at helping customers find Brunei businesses more easily.

While most businesses in Brunei today have social media accounts, the ability to search for specific products or service providers online is still lacking. “With social media, you have to know the name of the company to be able to find it,” he said.

“What we’ve found is that sometimes you want a specific product or service, but don’t know who is selling it or where to find it. This is where our online directory comes in, where you just select the category or enter the item or service you are looking for and you can find the sellers.

Adib believes that once Bruneians are able to find the company selling the product or service they want, closing the deal is straightforward: WhatsApp is often used for communication and payment can be made by wire transfer. banking.

Mahigo’s website therefore focuses on listing companies and their offerings without online transactions.

“Mahigo aims to fill this gap in the discoverability and research of Brunei companies. By creating your own supplier page, you can list branch locations, hours of operation, products, social media handles – functioning almost like your own website, but at minimal cost, ”he said. he adds.

Mahigo’s categories include different types of food and drink; products such as fashion, electronics and furniture; and services, including delivery, photography and construction.

Mahigo is free for customers to use either as a general visitor or as a registered user account, which allows you to communicate with vendors through the website and register specific businesses and their promotions.

For businesses, Mahigo offers three subscription levels of increasing value: Free, Basic ($ 19.99 per month) and Pro ($ 29.99 per month).

The free plan allows the business to list their profile, be reviewed, and view visitor analytics.

Adib said they are currently running a promotion offering a free 12-month subscription to their Basic and Pro plans.

The Basic offers standard capabilities as well as direct messaging capability and live ad posting. Meanwhile, the Pro package has all these functions as well as the ability to list products, services and promotions.

“In the future, (paid) subscriptions to the Pro and Basic plans will also be more prominent in the featured section of the home page as well as in our social media posts. “

The co-founder added that his dedicated media section also provides providers with photography, videography and graphic design services for their products, services and promotions.

These are carried out on the basis of personalized requests from registered suppliers.
